# CheckThatPhone pricing Phone validation API for US and Canada numbers. Every plan returns the full response: validation, live carrier dip, geoIP. The Free plan needs a card on file, verified with a $0 check and never charged, and stops at 500 lookups a month. ## Add-ons - **TCPA litigator scrub** (optional, +1 credit): Scrub each number against our litigator database. Adds `litigator`, `litigator_type`, and `litigator_name`, and rewrites `action` to `unsubscribe` on a match. Adds five `dipMessaging` fields. Mobile numbers skip the check, so you only pay when it applies. Each check reports whether it ran, so numbers in the 12 states the state check doesn't cover never read as clear. Paid plans are 1K at $5/month for 1,000 lookups, 10K at $30/month for 10,000 lookups, 100K at $100/month for 100,000 lookups and 500K at $450/month for 500,000 lookups. Lookups past a paid plan's included amount bill at that plan's overage rate: $0.005 per lookup on 1K, $0.003 on 10K, $0.001 on 100K and $0.0009 on 500K. Annual billing takes 15% off the paid plans. Below that, the 500K plan covers you: usage past 500,000 bills automatically at $0.0009/lookup. ## Pricing questions ### What counts as a lookup? One successful call to `POST /v1/lookup` for one phone number is one lookup and costs 1 credit. The TCPA litigator scrub adds 1 credit when enabled, landline-SMS reachability adds 1 credit when it applies (landlines only), and the state-DNC and complainer checks add nothing. Bulk CSV jobs are deduplicated first and priced per unique number, same as the live API. ### What happens when I use more than my plan includes? On paid plans your API keeps working and the extra credits bill at your plan's overage rate ($0.005 per lookup on 1K, $0.003 on 10K, $0.001 on 100K and $0.0009 on 500K). We charge your card as you use them, in steps, not at the end of the month. The Free plan stops at 500 credits a month instead. ### Do I need a credit card for the Free plan? Yes. We verify a card before your first API key is issued, to stop sign-up farming. It is verified with your bank without being charged, so no payment is taken, and the Free plan is hard-capped at 500 credits a month with no overage. ### Can I cancel at any time? Yes, from your billing page, with no notice period and no cancellation fee. The plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan and keeps its API keys. ### Do unused credits roll over? No. The included credits reset at the start of each billing month. If your volume comes in bursts, stay on a smaller plan and let the overage rate cover the busy months, or upgrade for the month and move back down afterwards. ### Are failed lookups billed? No. A failed lookup returns `credits_used: 0`, and errors such as a malformed number or an upstream failure are not charged. ### Is there a discount for paying annually? Yes. Annual billing takes 15% off the paid plans. For example, 1K is $51 a year instead of $60. ### What if I need more than 500,000 lookups a month? The 500K plan keeps working past 500,000 at $0.0009 per lookup.
