What counts as a lookup?
One successful call to POST /v1/lookup for one phone number is one lookup and costs 1 credit. The TCPA litigator scrub adds 1 credit when enabled, landline-SMS reachability adds 1 credit when it applies (landlines only), and the state-DNC and complainer checks add nothing. Bulk CSV jobs are deduplicated first and priced per unique number, same as the live API.
Are failed lookups billed?
No. A failed lookup returns credits_used: 0, and errors such as a malformed number or an upstream failure are not charged.
Do I need a credit card for the Free plan?
Yes. We verify a card before your first API key is issued, to stop sign-up farming. It is verified with your bank without being charged, so no payment is taken, and the Free plan is hard-capped at 500 lookups a month with no overage.
What happens when I use more than my plan includes?
On paid plans, extra lookups bill at your plan's overage rate ($0.005 per lookup on 1K, $0.003 on 10K, $0.001 on 100K and $0.0009 on 500K) and appear on your next invoice. The Free plan stops at 500 lookups a month instead.
Is there a discount for paying annually?
Yes. Annual billing takes 15% off the paid plans. For example, 1K is $51 a year instead of $60.
What if I need more than 500,000 lookups a month?
The 500K plan keeps working past 500,000 at $0.0009 per lookup. For higher volume, tell us your volume through the quote form on this page and we'll email you a per-lookup rate below $0.0009.
